Recording Philosophy:

For the musician, recording is like painting a picture. It is what we will leave behind on this earth after we are gone. It is a vital part of the music process. If done well, the process will both grow the artist, and refine the song.

The thing about Bruce Edward Music and The Library Recording Studio (formerly Two Pillars) is that we love people and we love music. All the technical stuff needs to be there to serve the person and the music... not the other way around.

Relationship with The Library Recording Studio:

The Library Recording Studio is a beautiful new recording facility located in one of the old Grain Belt Brewery buildings, which is in the heart of the NorthEast Minneapolis Arts District. The Library is owned by my good friend and associate Matt Patrick. Matt and I have been partnering in music for many years, which allows me the honor of subletting his space when I need the facilities of a large, full-blown ProTools studio.

After the large requirements are finished, the rest of the recording and mixing is done in my own studio.

The thing that both Matt and I bring to the recording process is that we perform many different musical and technical roles. We offer writing and arranging, instrument performing and singing, engineering and producing.... and finally, mixing.
(Mastering we leave to someone else)

The fact that we can do so many different aspects of the process gives us a unique understanding about the whole process... and is, indeed, our greatest strength.
